Ok it’s been awhile but now I have more than one vintage dress and am happy not smiling in photos (I am not a smiley person, I did try in some of these photos and decided – nope not me) I can start to share some more of what I wear. It will still probably be sporadic though.
First I thought I would wear this headscarf in a bow….but I quickly realised it was driving me mental…
Much happier with a turban knot and some lippie!
Eyebrows – B Collection Brow Box in Light/Medium
Eyeshadow – Nude from some unknown pallet
Mascara – Max Factor False Lash Effect in Brown
Blush – Natio in Peach Glow
Lipstick – MAC Ladybug
Damn photographer cut off my beautiful shoes!!!!
Much, much happier not smiling like a goon
FLASHER!!!
Glasses – Vintage from Etsy (real prescription…I am nearly blind without them)
Headscarf – Gift
Brooch – Hunter & Co. (from the Truly Vintage Market Day)
Caramel Lambswool Vintage Sweater – Rock that Frock Etsy
Fleur De Lis Vintage Shirt Dress – Rock the Frock Etsy
60s Wool Houndstooth Coat – Audrey Scarlett Vintage (from the Love Vintage Show)
Cream Gloves, White Spilene Vintage Bag & Brown Ferragamos – Ebay
I have decided shirt dresses are the best thing in the world. I wore this dress to the Truly Vintage Market Day, but then this sweater arrived and I realised it would make a perfect ensemble. All I need now is a proper petticoat. I really want my skirts to poof out more.
What are you wearing this week?
Miss Fairchild xoxo
Sunday best… not for me today! A few hours sleep means I can’t be bothered getting out of my dressing gown 😛 My dressing gown is sooooo cosy. I have an eBay buyer showing up in one hour and I’m already thinking up my “sorry I’m in my dressing gown” excuse… although I’ll see if I can get myself to Savers if my discount coupon hasn’t expired!
In this case it certainly wasn’t a Sunday – most Sundays are spent in my pjs too!
You look smashingly lovely, dear Jess! That coat (and its lining) is so terrific! I bet it’s the sort of piece you’ll reach for time and time again over the years.
I’m with you when it comes to shirtwaist dresses 100%. They’re a staple in my wardrobe, too. Whether genuine vintage or 80s does 40s or 50s, my closet is liberally peppered with these comfortable, chic classics.
Wishing you an amazing June, honey!
♥ Jessica
Thanks lovely lady! I am totally in love with my coat. It is without a doubt the best vintage purchase I have ever made.
Love the lining in that coat, wow! And the flasher photo is great 😉
Thanks lovely! The lining is so pretty.
You look gorgeous! Love the whole outfit! The coat is lovely, love that pattern!
Awww thanks lovely! The coat really is divine. I just adore it.
You look absolutely fabulous. Both smiling like a goon and more serious faced! xo
Awww thanks lovely!
Looking good girlfriend! I totally agree with you…if you don’t feel comfy smiling, don’t. If you want to start out with a semi-full petticoat (rather than a full on foofy one) I bought a modern repro from ebay that is great to start out with. They are a QLD company so the postage is quite reasonable. xx Shauna
Thanks lovely! I would much rather buy vintage but I am having trouble locating any in my size. I might have to get a repo one if I can’t find one soon.
Absolutely divine!!!! I LURVE that coat! And your hair is gorgeous!
Thanks lovely lady! The coat is the best.
